Jeremy has a keen interest in finding innovative solutions with an emphasis on constructability and temporary works, particularly those adjacent to high-consequence infrastructure. Jeremy has undertaken investigation, design, and construction work for numerous structure and excavation projects, mainly in Sydney and Auckland.
Jeremy has a special interest in geotechnical earthquake engineering and its application to design projects. He has been responsible for geotechnical earthquake engineering design work for several challenging projects in seismically active areas, such as the new Transmission Gully motorway north of Wellington, New Zealand, and the Lihir mine in Papua New Guinea.
Jeremy has undertaken practice-oriented research in several aspects of geotechnical earthquake engineering, and has a Masters degree specialising in this field. He has published and presented numerous technical papers at national and international conferences in this and other fields.
The geostructural aspects of Sydney CBD’s Wynyard Walk pedestrian tunnel and bridge project, for which Jeremy was PSM’s project manager and lead geotechnical designer, have recently been awarded the Concrete Institute of Australia NSW branch 2017 Award for Excellence in Concrete in Infrastructure, and Consult Australia’s 2017 Design Innovation Highly Commended award.
Jeremy specialises in the application of geotechnical engineering to large and complex civil design projects including:
