Constructed in the 1920s, a disused freight line traverses through a densely populated area in the inner west of Sydney.
PSM was engaged to undertake detailed geotechnical and contamination investigations including test pitting, sampling, and field and laboratory testing for planned light rail extension. PSM also provided advice on material properties, track re-conditioning, surface and subsurface drainage, and cutting stability.
